Hello~, this is M, the concept-cafe writer!
This time I took the Tobu Urban Park Line from Kashiwa and arrived at the terminus on the opposite end, "Omiya"! About a 6-minute walk from the East Exit (South Exit) of Omiya Station is a concept cafe by the name of "Chat Noir." It's a concept cafe where girls wearing cat ears welcome you.
However, since the time I went happened to be right in the middle of Halloween, it was a cosplay day. A police officer wearing not cat ears but rabbit ears (according to her, Judy Hopps from Disney's Zootopia) welcomed me.
The interior has round tables with sofas attached, and the wallpaper is a faint pink. The image is really like coming to a cat cafe or dog cafe. I got permission to photograph just the corner. Looking only at this, it somehow feels like a human dwelling, though...
The price, including all-you-can-drink and karaoke, is 3,000 yen for first-timers (tax and 15% service charge separate). When they ask, "Do you want to talk with the girls more~?" the system is to answer with an "O/X stick." (Photo permission wasn't granted. Aww~.)
Maybe the timing was bad; since I came right when the shop was crowded, I tried to order spaghetti, but it had just run out, and instead I ordered an assorted snack plate. By the way, the spaghetti and the assorted snack plate are the same price, 1,500 yen, while the message omurice is 3,000 yen. The omurice is a bit pricey... (though I sort of feel maybe that's just how it is). The assorted snacks were also more than I could finish.
The girls were bustling about too. Sorry for visiting while you were busy. With the one-drink service, I toasted with the girl who, even amid the busyness, served me politely. Having spent an enjoyable time, M the concept-cafe writer once again headed to the battlefield called work.
