Mirai Plant Report

Hello, this is M, the concept-cafe writer!

Today's stage is Shinjuku Kabukicho. The nighttime town... In the streets, host promotional wrapped cars drive by, a host named Haruhi Suzumiya actually exists, and it's a town full of surprises.

And so, from this report on, I'd like to move my base from Akihabara to Shinjuku and report from there.

The Shinjuku-based concept cafe is Mirai Plant! On weekends it opens at 5 p.m., and I went right when it opened, but as is common with shops that open at 5 p.m., there was the situation of no cast being there yet...

Even so, they properly explained the system to me. This shop, rare for Shinjuku, has a low price of a 900 yen charge fee plus one drink.

I thought I might as well have the one drink since I was here... umeshu (plum wine) on the rocks (I love umeshu). The suggestive version (a cast member happened to get in the shot).

The menu was also rich with all sorts of options, but they seemed too busy to have time to make anything, so I tearfully held back...

Apparently the reason the cast was short-handed was that the trains had stopped due to rain that day. It seems to be a popular shop, because even though the cast wasn't all assembled, customers kept coming in one after another.

While they were serving other guests, I snapped a photo of the interior. As the name suggests, this shop's concept is "the future," but how about it? Does it look futuristic?

The interior makes you want to retort, "Why is there so much champagne?" Ordering it is probably expensive...
