[Undercover Report] A "Royal" Social Salon on Kokusai-dori: An Elegant Time at Blue Egg Okinawa

At last, I'm ready to live up to everyone's expectations. Hello. Twenty years of concept-cafe pilgrimages, fifteen years of producing them. I'm Yama, a living witness of the industry.

1. A "Royal" Space Suddenly Appearing on the Second Floor of a Bustling Don Quijote

Naha's landmark, Don Quijote Kokusai-dori. Go up the escalator and pass through the lively sales floor, and there's a spot where the atmosphere softly shifts. An entrance full of elegance, based on white and blue. This is today's destination, Blue Egg Okinawa.

Open the door and you're greeted by the pure, gentle voice of a maid saying, "Welcome home, Master." A calm time flows here, as if the commotion outside were a lie.

2. "Blue" but "Pink"? The Gap Hidden in the Shop's Name

The first thing that catches your eye is the classic, elegant pink uniforms. And then there's the warm lighting that colors the interior.

"The shop's name is 'Blue Egg,' so why is it pink?"

When I posed this simple question to a maid, she answered with a smile.

"'Blue Egg' is a blue egg that brings happiness. As for the mansion (the shop interior), we wrap it in warm pink so that our Masters can relax and feel at ease. This gap is one of our charm points, too."

I see, an approachability within the dignity (the "royal"). That exquisite balance is what you'll find here.

3. The Trust and Popularity of a Nationwide Group

This shop is operated by Project Selene Group, which was born in Nagoya, and there are affiliated shops in Tokyo and Nagoya as well. The Okinawa shop opened in August 2022.

4. Found During the Undercover Visit! Maid-Approved "After-Concept-Cafe" Spots

To wrap up the report, a maid secretly told me about "things to enjoy after leaving the mansion."

Hanahana Shoten (Okinawa soba): A famous spot, recommended even by the cooking expert Ryuji!

Akatonbo (taco rice): A flavor full of local love, tucked away in a corner of the shopping street. Be careful, it closes at 7 p.m.!

Kijimunaa, an Okinawa local-gourmet taco rice specialty shop: Apparently it's opening as a three-story building on Kokusai-dori in March 2026. It seems it'll have a cool design motif based on the Kijimuna, a Yokai (folklore spirit).

Maybe being able to exchange this kind of "insider" local information is part of why the shop has been loved for so long in its Kokusai-dori location.

5. Luxury Enjoyed with the Five Senses: Authentic "Taiwanese Tea" and the Magical "Voice Cheki"

The reason Blue Egg Okinawa captivates so many fans lies in the high "quality" of its hospitality. Two menu items in particular deserve attention, enjoyed through taste and hearing.

- "Authentic Taiwanese Tea Brewed from Tea Leaves," Carefully Prepared by a Maid

When you think of concept cafes, colorful cocktails and soft drinks are the standard, but what I really want you to try here is the "Taiwanese tea."

What's surprising is that it's properly brewed from tea leaves, not a tea bag. The tea a maid carefully prepares in the mansion has an exceptionally rich aroma, and one sip lets you relax from the heart. This may be the only place in all of Okinawa's concept cafes where you can savor an authentic tea time worthy of the "royal" concept. It's a gem I can confidently recommend even to those who don't like sweets or who want to leisurely enjoy conversation.

- Memories Revived in "Voice"! The Latest "Voice Cheki" Experience

And what surprised this writer the most was a service rarely seen at other shops: the "Voice Cheki."

A normal cheki has a message written on the photo, but the cheki here comes with a secret QR code. Scan it with your smartphone, and you can actually hear the "live voice" of the maid you photographed at that moment!

Not just a photographic memory, but a service that lets you take home the atmosphere of the moment and the maid's gentle voice, all packaged together. Even after leaving the mansion, you can secretly feel as though you're still under a spell at home. It really is "next-generation memory-making."

6. Overall Review: Go Find Your Very Own "Happiness"

Blue Egg Okinawa went beyond the framework of a mere cafe; it was a "social salon" that gently embraces the hearts of those who visit.

The luxury of forgetting the daily commotion and surrendering yourself to authentic tea and enjoyable conversation. When you visit Naha, by all means climb the stairs on the second floor of Don Quijote. There, surely, the "blue egg of happiness" awaits you.
